My second lot of glass beads.

I have made my second batch of lampworking beads . I am happy with this lot though I still have a long way to go. The first batch were very wonky which is why I haven't posted a photo here. I spent the last few hours checking the temperature of the kiln waiting to take my beads out.

I spent a very pleasant morning making these beads and would have made more but the LPG bottle needs to be refilled. I just want to be able to make perfect beads straight away.

Getting Started

I have finally finished the extra hours I took on to buy my lampwork torch. I'm pretty happy as I've been doing approximately 60 hours a week and I was getting a little bit tired. I think, though it will be worth it.

My kiln arrived last week aswell so now that I have some free time to myself, it's time to play. This is the Paragon Kiln I ordered. It's an E12AB meaning it's big enough to be used for bronze metal clay and has a bead door.

I bought a Carlisle Mini CC after reading all about the different lampwork torches. I had a glass bead making lesson a few years ago when I knew it was something I was definately interested in, and the terrible thing is, I can't remember what torch I used then.

My husband is making me a workbench, so I'm nearly ready to go. Perhaps when I've made my first glass beads I'll put these on here too. I can't wait.

Welcome to My Blog

Well, I suppose I have decided to jump on the bandwagon and make a blog about my hobby. It's partly to show my family who are overseas what I do, and partly for fun.
I have just bought a kiln and a lampwork torch, so I am itching to get started playing with it. Ironically this is all I can think to write about now. Will write some more when the blogging juices are flowing and perhaps post some photos. Lindy
